The Crusades were religious wars during the 11th through 13th centuries led by European Christians to gain control of Jerusalem and it’s surrounding areas from Muslim control. The Crusaders wore the Cross as a signifier of their religious expedition. The word crusade even has its roots in the Latin word for cross, crux. This one of a kind necklace features a bronze coin from this era in a bezel setting. It is reversible with one side depicting the symbol of the Cross.
