Giving back is a fundamental principle of Leigh Maxwell. Below are some of our favorite initiatives.
Leigh Maxwell has provided ongoing support to Gem Legacy since 20__, and is sponsoring _____ dorm rooms in the new Gem Legacy Campus.
Jennifer has traveled to Tanzania and Kenya twice through Gem Legacy’s partner company, Gem Legacy Adventures.
On these trips Jennifer had the opportunity to visit Gem Legacy’s initiatives, meet the miners, see the mines and learn about East African culture and wildlife.
In 2024 Leigh Maxwell partnered with Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. From September 2024 through January 10, 2025 Leigh Maxwell donated 50% net profits from the sale of Bahati Collection to the organization.
Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation works towards the conservation of wildlife and protection of habitat in East Africa. They are known for their elephant orphan rescue and rehabilitation program, considered to be the best in the world.
The Bahati collection was inspired from Jennifer’s time in Kenya and Tanzania as a doctor in International Health and Tropical Medicine. The collection celebrates the African Elephant, the world’s largest living land mammal.
As a survivor of three heart attacks, heart health is deeply personal to Jennifer.
Leigh Maxwell is a supporter of the American Heart Association, supporting the Cedar Rapids Go Red Heart Health Lunch.
In 2025 she was selected to be an ambassador of the AHA. She is also a regular blood donor.
